The following events are added to the WAAS programme: July 7 Hammer, Shot and Discus July 21 Javelin, Discus and Weight throw. Commencing at 5.30pm. While these are added primarily to give our Lyon entrants some actual competition, all MAWA throwers are welcome to come along.

Congratulation to the 20 MAWA athletes who completed the Perth marathon this morning. Bob Lane once again won the Jim Barnes trophy with 81.88%, just beating new member Gary Peace on 81.29%. The committee and members of MAWA are saddened to hear of the passing of Trish Lopes, one of our young members. Her smiling face and bouncy ponytail will be missed. Sincere condolences to her mother Lorraine and family, and Trish’s partner David and son Colton.
