The 2013 National Postal Relays start on February 5th at WAAS. This year they are being organised by Colin Smith, and there will be sign-in sheets at the January track meets at WAAS and ECAC. For details see the Relay Carnival web page. For those who are interested the results of these relays over the past 4 years can be found on the AMA website.
See the T & F results page, under ‘CLUB TOPS AND OTHER’, for the full table of points in this years Patron’s Trophy. A report with photos will appear in a double issue TFNL at the end of January.
In a close finish, David Carr pipped Giovanni Puglisi to win the men’s trophy with Bob Schickert 3rd. In the women’s event, only 14 points separated the first three, with Gillian Young taking out the title from Cathy McCloskey with Carmel Meyer 3rd. Full results to follow later.
Entry for the 2013 State Championships is now open – refer to the State Championship section of the main sidebar on the home page. Please read the information sheet before completing your entry form. You can enter online or by downloading and posting the paper form to Barbara Blurton. You are encouraged to enter on line as it eliminates human error as well as reducing admin costs.
You will note that 4 out of the 5 days of the championships will be at WAAS. We know that this is the preferred venue for most club members, but our costs there are substantially higher than at ECAC. It has therefore been necessary to increase the entry fees to ensure that the club can break even for the event.
All entrants to the MAWA 2013 State Championships will receive a free Perth 2016 T-shirt.
Sandra Stockman has taken over the role of Uniform Manager. She has supplies of Club singlets, tracksuits, teeshirts and other items, which are on display at Sunday runs and at WAAS on Tuesdays. Please see Sandra on Sundays or Tuesdays for your uniform requirements, or contact her by email email@example.com or phone 9375 5294.
All current World and Australian records up to 25/11/2012 are now on the AMA Website.
