Verification of throws records involves the requirement for technical judging, verification of implements, and checking of distance measurements with a certified steel tape. This has always been very difficult to achieve at our smaller regional track and field meetings. The committee have therefore passed the following motion which was proposed by Damien Hanson:

I propose to the committee that MAWA no longer accept (throwing) records from any meetings or events that are not conducted by a state level organisation or above.

Those members wishing to set throws records in WA will therefore need to come to a meeting either arranged by MAWA or by AWA
