We had very strong support this year for the 50km Championship, but less so for the walking event. For the short RRC/RWC events, disappointingly we had no female entrants in the run. We will advertise the short championships more strongly next year.
Congratulations to Chris Lark and Clare Wardle on winning the long events with exceptional times of 3:50 and 4:17 min/km.
Club stalwart John McDonagh took out the men’s Walking Championship while Melissa Lewis clocked an outstanding 6:22 min/km over the 30km distance.
Short event Championship wins went to David Adams, Mike Anderson and Liz Gomez.
Please contact Barbara at firstname.lastname@example.org for any mistakes or omissions.

Following last night’s announcement by the Premier, all future MAWA events will proceed as normal.
Based on current Government covid rules the following will apply:
ECAC Thursday 29th
This will go ahead but as this is a venue only 20 are permitted. We will not allow visitors and based on the past two weeks we will stay under the 20. As a last resort distance runners can warm up outside and enter the arena as sprinters leave. There will be no shot putt. Masks must be worn when not running.
Weir Run May 2nd
This will go ahead as it is classed as community sport which is allowed. Whether or not masks need to be worn when not running will depend on Government announcement on Friday.
Due to the new lockdown the Sunday Run at Bold Park and the Monday training at ECAC are both cancelled.
