Congratulations go to Hamish McLeod for winning the 2014 Achievement Award. This trophy is awarded at the discretion of the committee and goes to someone who has not only used the opportunity our club gives to improve athletic performance, but has also put something back into the club by making an important contribution to the running of the club.
When Hamish joined the club he was a 51/52 minute 10k runner. He has steadily improved these times and now runs alongside some of our best athletes. He recently set a 10k PB of 42:16 and a very creditable 50:03 in the Run for a Reason. He has recently finished in 4th place in the 50k Road Running championships. Hamish took on the Webmaster role 2 years ago, and in that time he has steadily improved our website, (from the very good base originally set up by Mike Karra and John Oldfield). It is superbly laid out, lets members view results quickly and easily, and has a comprehensive archive of results, records and magazines.
The Achievement Award Trophy was presented to Hamish before the RRC/RWC event last Sunday
