On a magical night at Ern Clark, in perfect conditions, David Carr smashed the 1500m M85 World record by 11 seconds, recording 6:27.3. He was paced initially by Barbara to the 900m mark and then by Bjorn through the finish.
And earlier in the week another MAWA member scored a World Record, this time Barbara Blurton in the W65 4x400m team at the National Championships in Darwin. Their time was 4:52.76
