We are sorry to advise members that our beloved Patron John Gilmour OAM has passed away on Wednesday 1 August 2018.
Apart from being a WA legend in athletics he was one of the founding members of our club in 1974.
He served on the committee for 6 years and has been our Club Patron from 2009. He was also inducted into the AMA Hall of fame in 2009.
As well as setting many records at World level he gave back so much more to athletics over his life initiating new clubs and coaching young athletes. You could not meet a kinder hero.
After a great innings of 99 years he still attended our club events and regularly presented our club awards.
An inspiration to us all, he will be dearly missed but will live on in the history books and in our hearts.
