Visiting competitor Bob Colligan lost his hearing aid near the pavilion, close to the start line at the Club Half Marathon on Sunday 13 July. If anyone  found a hearing aid in that vicinity please let us know via mawasecretary@gmail.com and your message will be forwarded to Bob.

The committee has been advised that some areas of the Ern Clark Athletics Centre track in Cannington have become slippery when wet. All members and visitors are urged to exercise due caution when training or competing at ECAC.

The committee have set Wednesday 27th August as the AGM date. It will be held 7pm at the Hockey Pavilion, Perry Lakes. Nine masters walkers competed in the MAWA 10k road walk championships. The Kent Street course at Wilson is very good but, together with the younger athletes, we battled through some horrible weather – thunder, lightning and then the very heavy rain which made it difficult for both walkers and the poor judges who were hiding under trees for shelter. Sadly we announce the death of one of our oldest and respected club members, Frank Usher. Frank joined the club in 1977, at the time of the running revolution. He was a marathon man, who often ran to work – anything up to 20kms. Frank enjoyed all aspects of club life, running, walking and helping.…

The presentation of trophies, medals and certificates for this year’s RRC/RWC events will be held at the special presentation breakfast to be held 3rd August after the Racecourse run. This is counter to previous advice that they would be at the Jorgensen breakfast

Sandra Stockman has decided she will relinquish the job of Clothing Official at the forthcoming AGM in August. The committee would like to thank Sandra for her work over the past 2 years. If any member is interested in taking on this role after the AGM, would they please let a committee member know.
