MAWA members are invited to participate in a Cross-Country team event on the 13th of August 2022 at Yellagonga Regional Park.
The team’s event – Squad vs Squad – if successful, would be introduced to the Athswest Winter Athletics calendar as a ‘series’ in future seasons.
They are currently looking at either a relay or points-based format. Teams would consist of 5-7 members depending on the format, and can be either male, female or mixed. The distance of the event would be 3-4 kms for a relay, or up to 7km for a single points race. More details are available here.
The hope is to build some good, fun, and competitive rivalry amongst WA’s distance runners/squads/clubs, much like what is experienced in the Eastern States, the US and Europe.
